TT Nordmasters review 2023 and history

Review of the TT Nordmasters 2023: The top-class TT tournament: After many high-class games, the former Ukrainian national player Veronika Hud from the third division team MTV Engelbostel-Schulenburg won the 2023 Women's Nordmasters 3-0 against Funke Oshonaike (SC Poppenbüttel). Third place went to Alina Novosad and Mariia Kurishchenko (both (3rd BL VfL Kellinghusen)). The 2023 Men's TT Nordmasters was won by Ali Güzübüyük from the third division team Füchse Berlin ahead of Chis Helm (2nd BL Worms Leiselheim). Third place went to Frederik Spreckelsen from Schwarzenbek and Heye Koepke (Oldenburg). This year, top-class TT sport was once again shown at a high level. All participants, spectators and those involved were enthusiastic and are already looking forward to the next event. It is very important to mention our partners and sponsors, without whom such a tournament would not be possible. A big thank you goes out to Contra Table Tennis Sport (Claus Mattern in Lübeck, Veli Erdogan in Kiel/Neumünster and the TT World in Hamburg), to the TT companies JOOLA and GEWO, who support us with their professional equipment, and to the TTVSH support association. And not to be forgotten are the organizing clubs SV Siek and TSV Sparrieshoop, who ensure excellent conditions with a lot of commitment and energy. Please take a look under the Partners and Supporters section, where you can find more information. Origin: The idea for the Table Tennis Nordmasters tournament came about on a return trip from the national youth ranking tournament Top 48 in autumn 2019. I discussed the performance of our players with Veli Erdogan, who had mostly played well. Against the top players of the big state associations, however, you could see that they could mostly keep up technically, only they lacked experience at a higher level, especially in the serve/return game. Plus the eternal discussion about the training and competition options for the time after adolescence. After all events were cancelled in March, the new season will probably start again soon, and my home club TSV Bargteheide had been promoted to the 3rd Bundesliga with the men and the women to the Oberliga, the question arose as to how to prepare well. Nobody really knows where they stand. Most people have now started training again. The only thing that is missing are the competitions. In particular, the elimination of the national rankings for women and men and also the state rankings means that there is no competition at a high level. This is how the idea of the Table Tennis Nordmasters came about. The field of participants for the women and men consists of 24 players who play in four groups of 6 in the preliminary round. The top two then play in a knockout system to determine the winner. The prize money is as follows: 1st place €250, 2nd place €100, 3rd place €50 each.
